Activities for realization of APPRM's program

The Association of public prosecutors of the Republic of Macedonia, starting from the current and priority issues that came from the suggestions of the subsidiaries as well as on the basis of the Strategic plan made by the executive board and pursuant to the goals determined in the Statute, accomplished the following collaborations:

•  Collaboration with the Macedonian judges Association, as one of the priorities with the special place in the working program, is intensive and is going in two directions. Respecting the achieved successes and results that MJA had in its 10 years existence on the plan of the judicial function, especially on the plan of the education, the experiences and the achieved communication with foreign associations and in the same time the capacities of the MJA were used, particularly the Centre for continuing education of judges. This unselfish help from the MJA today means everyday communication and mutual realization of large number of projects exceptionally on the plan of education. We would like the point out the collaboration with the Centre for continuing education of judges – that we expect with the realization of the CARD programs to become National Academy for judges and public prosecutors.

•  The collaboration with ABA CEELI started with the initiative for establishing the APPRM. It has intensified in 2003 and 2004 creating basic conditions for realization of the APPRM's program and normal functioning. It stared with providing modest help for technical equipping of the APPRM's office, continued with mutual realization of the Annual Assembly held in Ohrid, public dispute for the Law for changes of the Criminal Code, with the project for the Statute of the APPRM and the project for ethics in the Courts and Public prosecutor's office, the project for strategic planning….

The collaboration made in 2003 was exceptionally noteworthy for which as a consequence of the previously attained results this strategic partner has approved a grant - financial assistance for legal assistant as well as financial assets for existence of the publication ” Obviniteski glas” in the next two years.

•  The collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America or the program OPDAT that started in 2002 is particularly important for the APPRM, especially on the plan of education and expert upgrade. We would like to call attention to the collaboration for realization of the regional meetings that APPRM held in Berovo, Kicevo and Gevgelija where it was disputed about the changes of the Criminal Procedure Law, the collaboration for fulfilment of the project for the changes of the Criminal Code in Ohrid and in Otesevo, organizing workshops in Strumica, Skopje and Ohrid for crimes connected with human trafficking and the study visits for five members of the APPRM in the USA .It is also worth to mention the OPDAT's strives on the plan of studying English language that ended with complete project for education that was realized throughout 2003 and 2004 in all public prosecutors offices in the Republic of Macedonia.

•  The collaboration with OSCE is intensifying since 2002, and as a result of it came the significant project for continuously topical position of the Public prosecutor's office – the Public prosecutors office law, which throughout the public disputes held on the joint meeting in Dojran and after it in all of the public prosecutor's offices in the Republic of Macedonia should end with suggestion for law that by the end of 2003 we expect to get verification from the Parliament of the republic. In the framework of this project financial assets were secured for the employment of legal assistant in APPRM's office, resources for providing technical equipment for the office and what is very important to be emphasized that resources for publishing the publication “ Obvinitelski glas “ were also secured.
